Proteins are made of chemical building blocks called amino acids. The human body produces most of the amino acids it needs itself. But not all amino acids can be synthesised by the body. There are 10 "essential" amino acids that the body cannot manufacture itself and must therefore receive on a regular basis through the food we eat.

Edible gelatin contains 9 of the 10 essential amino acids and can therefore be an important component of a healthy, balanced diet. The human body relies on a daily intake of protein – gelatin is an ideal supplement in this respect. Gelatin is free of cholesterol and purines and contains no preservatives or other additives.
